less和little的区别

less是little的比较级。little 很少；几乎没有，修饰不可数名词。There is little water in my glass.less 较少的意思， little/few 的比较级。Eat more vegetables and eat less meat.

less和little的区别

less是形容词，修饰不可数名词，指数量、程度或大小较少；little是形容词，修饰不可数名词或可数名词的单数形式，多指不可数名词的数量较少。

我们在学习英语的时候，经常会学到一些看上去意思差不多的英语单词，比如说less和little，但是实际上二者的差别还是非常明显的，little的意思是少的，几乎没有的，而less是little的比较级，意思是更少的。

在用法方便，less和little也有 很明显的不同。less一般用作名词，表示“较少、更少”，主要作宾语，但是也可以作主语和表语。另外，在用作形容词的时候，通常与不可数名词连用。

little单独使用的时候表示少量甚至是几乎没有，强调“少”，little之后是可以直接跟名词的，不需要介词of，但是若是后面的名词受到限定词的影响，那么必须用介词of。

less的用法

1、用作名词 （n.）可以作宾语、主语、表语等：

There is less to do in this job than the last.

这份工作没有上份工作量大。

It seems less of a threat than I'd expected.

威胁性似乎比我预料的要小。

2、adj.

较小的；较少的（little的比较级）；较次的，较劣的；较不重要的

注意，作为little的比较级时常常修饰不可数名词，但是，也有罕见的修饰可数名词的情况：

He was advised to smoke fewer cigarettes and drink less beer.

有人劝他少抽烟、少喝啤酒。

较少的黄油 / 时间；次要

Less oil was produced this year than last.

今年的石油产量比去年的少。

I received less money than the others did.

我比别人收到的钱要少。

The couple seem to spend less and less time together

两口子在一起的时间似乎越来越少。

注意：

I did expect more food and less people.（罕见）

我的确期望食物更多而人更少。

There were less cars on the road then.那时马路上小汽车很少。（罕见）

较少；较小；更少；更小；没那么多；少

可修饰形容词或副词表示程度；修饰动词表示次数、程度或数量等：

People should eat less fat to reduce the risk of heart disease.

人们应该减少脂肪摄入，以降低患心脏病的危险。

我经常想到那些没我这么幸运的人。

few、little、a few、a little如何区分

1、few 后面跟复数可数名词。例如：

There are few books in his room.

There are few students in his class.

2、little 后面跟单数不可数名词。例如：

He has few friends.

他没有几个朋友。

They has little money.

他们没有什么钱。

3、a few 与 a little 都表示肯定的意思，指“有一点，有一些”。a few 后加可数名词复数。例如：

I'm going to buy a few bananas.

a little 后加不可数名词单数。例如：

I can speak only a little Chinese.

4、a little 与 little 也可以用作副词， 表示“有点”“稍稍” 表示“很少”。例如：

---Can you speak English?

----Yes, but only a little.

This book is a little more difficult than that one.（可修饰形容词比较级）

She slept little last night.

昨天晚上，她没有怎么睡觉。

5、a few / a little 为肯定含义，还有一点；few / little为否定含义，没有多少了。

例如：

He has a few friends.

他有几个朋友。

He has few friends.

他几乎没有朋友。

We still have a little time.

我们还有点时间。

There is little time left.

几乎没剩下什么时间了。
